WHY CONVERSATIONS WITH KEMELA OKARA?

The idea to hold conversations was conceived sometime in the first and second quarter of 2019 as a platform for helping young men and women in Bayelsa State to develop lifestyles focused on positively impacting the world in which they live.

After nearly six years of service in government in Bayelsa State first as a Commissioner, then as Secretary to Government and recently as a Governorship aspirant on the platform of the PDP, I have come to recognize that perhaps the greatest task ahead is preparing young men and women in the State to embrace the need to be “Change Agents”.

I have had a unique career path and work life that has seen me train and work successfully as a lawyer for over 20 years. Alongside this I was also ordained a pastor in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in 1995, serving as a missionary in Denmark and England and in leadership of This Present House (TPH), Lagos.

My work life in the private sector, the church and now in government has given me a unique perspective to the challenges of nation building and the responsibility we all have to build the type of society we desire.

“I am passionate to see ordinary men and women pursue destiny and achieve purpose, wellbeing and prosperity in a fair and equitable enabling environment.”
